Christmas Pavlova Trifle

A delightful dessert featuring layers of crisp meringue, creamy whipped topping, and vibrant mixed berries, perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • Mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the granulated sugar, beating until glossy and stiff peaks form.
  3. Gently fold in the vinegar and cornstarch, maintaining the airy texture.
  4. Spoon the meringue onto the baking sheet, shaping it into a large circle, about 8-10 inches wide.
  5. Bake for about 90 minutes until dry and crisp. Turn off the oven and leave meringue to cool inside.
  6. While cooling, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  7. Once meringue is cool, break it into chunks and layer in a trifle dish, alternating with whipped cream and mixed berries.
  8. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, garnishing with mint leaves and extra berries.
  9. Serve immediately or refrigerate to let flavors meld.

Notes

Make sure your bowl and beaters are clean for whipping egg whites. Cool meringue in the oven to prevent cracking.
