Christmas Pavlova Trifle

A festive dessert featuring layers of delicate meringue, velvety cream, and fresh berries that melts in your mouth, perfect for holiday gatherings.

  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 cup sponge cake or ladyfingers
  • Mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. In a clean mixing bowl, whip the egg whites until they form soft peaks.
  3. Slowly add the sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold in the vinegar and cornstarch.
  5. Spoon the meringue onto a lined baking sheet and bake for about 1.5 hours until crisp.
  6. Let the meringue cool completely.
  7. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream with vanilla until soft peaks form.
  8. Layer the meringue, sponge cake, whipped cream, and mixed berries in a trifle dish.
  9. Top with additional whipped cream, berries, and mint leaves if desired.
  10. Serve immediately or chill until ready.

Notes

Store the trifle in the refrigerator for up to two days. Components can be made ahead of time and refrigerated separately.
