Homemade Churro Bites with Nutella

Delightful homemade churro bites with a crispy exterior and a soft, doughy inside, served with rich Nutella for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Nutella for dipping
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a gentle simmer, stirring often.
  2. Stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip and pipe small bites into hot oil, frying until golden brown (3 to 4 minutes).
  6. Roll warm churro bites in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Serve with Nutella for dipping.

Notes

For best results, do not overcrowd the pan while frying. Keep churros warm with a dusting of cinnamon sugar just before serving.
