These Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies are irresistibly chewy and rich, perfect for any dessert table with a festive touch.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
  • Powdered sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until well combined.
  4. Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  5. Refrigerate the dough for about 30 minutes.
  6. Scoop the chilled dough, roll into balls, and coat thoroughly in powdered sugar.
  7. Place them on the baking sheet with enough space in between.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

To enhance cocoa flavor, a pinch of espresso powder can be added.
