Creamy Lemon Chicken Breast

A flavorful and easy creamy lemon chicken breast dish that combines zesty lemon with rich cream for a comforting meal perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 600g / 1.2lb chicken breasts (2 large)
  • 1/2 tsp cooking salt (kosher salt)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup flour (plain/all-purpose)
  • 40g / 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 12 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/4 cups chicken broth/stock
  • 3/4 cup heavy/thickened cream
  • 34 tbsp lemon juice (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated or finely shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Pasta of choice (e.g., linguine)
  • Finely chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then dredge them in flour, coating each piece well.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about a minute until fragrant. Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pan.
  4. Stir in the cream, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and Parmesan cheese. Allow the sauce to simmer gently until it thickens.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet and cook for another 5-7 minutes until fully cooked through.
  6. Serve over pasta, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and enjoy!

Notes

For a tangier flavor, add up to 4 tablespoons of lemon juice. Fresh ingredients like Parmesan cheese enhance the dish’s taste. Allow the chicken to sear properly without overcrowding the pan for a flavorful crust.
