Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 2 cups caramel buttercream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, until smooth and well combined.
  6. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Layer each cake with caramel buttercream, drizzle with salted caramel sauce, and decorate the top with more buttercream and caramel.
  9. Slice and serve.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for better blending. Don’t overmix the batter after adding flour to keep the texture fluffy.
