Soft and Savory Breakfast Rolls Everyone Will Wake Up For

Tender, pillowy rolls filled with savory ground sausage, fluffy scrambled eggs, and gooey melted cheese, topped with a creamy cheese sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground breakfast sausage, cooked and drained
  • 10 large eggs, scrambled
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough sheet (or crescent rolls unrolled and pressed together)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped parsley or green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until it’s fully browned and crumbly. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. In a separate pan, scramble the eggs, seasoning them with salt and pepper until they’re fluffy.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough on a lightly floured surface and press the seams together to create a single sheet.
  4. Spread scrambled eggs, cooked sausage, and shredded cheese evenly over the dough.
  5. Roll the dough into a log and slice into 1-inch rounds. Place cut side up in a greased baking dish.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. While rolls bake, melt butter in a saucepan and whisk in flour. Gradually add milk, stirring until smooth. Add shredded cheese and stir until melted.
  8. Once rolls are baked, ladle the cheese sauce over them and garnish with chopped parsley or green onions.

Notes

For extra flavor, mix in some sautéed veggies into the filling or experiment with different cheeses like mozzarella or feta.
