Description
A deliciously creamy pasta dish with smoked sausage, a honey BBQ sauce, and cheddar cheese that clings to each noodle.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
- 12 ounces penne or rotini pasta
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¾ cup honey BBQ sauce
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- ½ cup diced onions
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat until it shimmers. Add the diced onions and sauté until they are translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned, approximately 5-6 minutes.
- Season the mixture with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and honey BBQ sauce until they are well combined.
- Gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese while stirring, allowing it to melt until the sauce is creamy.
- Adjust seasonings if needed, and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Avoid adding cream too quickly; it can curdle. Gradually stir it in when the sauce is well combined for a smoother texture.
