- 1 pound Italian sausage (sweet or spicy)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1/2 cup onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the diced onion and garlic, sauté until softened, about 2-3 minutes, until the onion turns glossy.
- Add the Italian sausage, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
- Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 10-12 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- Reduce heat to low; stir in the heavy cream and cheese until melted and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
