- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cups egg noodles
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the onions and sauté until they become translucent.
- Increase the heat slightly, cooking the onions until they are golden brown, stirring occasionally.
- Push the onions to the side and add the sliced beef.
- Sear the beef strips until browned on all sides.
- Pour in the beef broth and stir to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits.
- Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Add the egg noodles, cover, and cook for about 10 minutes until the noodles are tender.
- Stir in the shredded cheese until melted and well combined.
Notes
Allow onions to caramelize well to enhance sweetness and flavor. Cook beef in batches to avoid overcrowding.
