Description

A comforting and quick meal featuring beef, onions, and egg noodles, perfect for busy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef (sirloin or chuck), cut into strips
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups egg noodles
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the onions and sauté until they become translucent.
  3. Increase the heat slightly, cooking the onions until they are golden brown, stirring occasionally.
  4. Push the onions to the side and add the sliced beef.
  5. Sear the beef strips until browned on all sides.
  6. Pour in the beef broth and stir to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits.
  7. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  8. Add the egg noodles, cover, and cook for about 10 minutes until the noodles are tender.
  9. Stir in the shredded cheese until melted and well combined.

Notes

Allow onions to caramelize well to enhance sweetness and flavor. Cook beef in batches to avoid overcrowding.
