Ingredients
Scale
1 lb ground meat (beef, turkey, chicken, or pork)
12 small potatoes, diced (about ½-inch pieces)
1 can condensed cream soup (mushroom, chicken, or celery)
¾ cup cold milk
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Shredded cheese (as desired for topping)
Fresh herbs (for garnish)
Frozen vegetables (optional for extra nutrition)
Instructions
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground meat and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks until browned.
Stir in the diced potatoes and cook for 5 minutes, allowing them to soften and absorb the meat’s flavor.
Add the condensed cream soup along with ¾ cup cold milk, stirring until smooth and combined—adjust with extra milk if needed to avoid thickness.
Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 10–15 minutes until the potatoes are fork-tender, stirring occasionally and adding a splash of milk or water if sticking occurs.
Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Sprinkle cheese on top and let it melt. If using, add frozen vegetables during the last 3–4 minutes of cooking.
Garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot.
Notes
For added flavor, serve with a green salad, crusty bread, or a dollop of sour cream.
