- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying (optional)
Instructions
- Combine the mashed potatoes, shredded cheese, Parmesan cheese, milk, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix until well combined.
- Form a small amount of the mixture into a ball or patty. Roll each ball into breadcrumbs until well coated.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat or preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- If frying, place the puffs in the hot oil and fry until golden brown on all sides. If baking, place on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
- Serve warm as an appetizer or side dish.
Notes
Use freshly made mashed potatoes for best results; adjust cheeses based on preference. Don’t overcrowd the frying pan to ensure even cooking.
