Description

A warm and inviting potato gratin layered with Gruyere and Parmesan cheeses, creating a crispy, golden top and creamy interior, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds of potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of grated Gruyere cheese
  • 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of butter, for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Combine heavy cream, milk, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl, creating a fragrant mixture.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, and sprinkle with half of the Gruyere and Parmesan cheeses.
  5. Pour half of the cream mixture over the layers, ensuring even distribution.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cheeses, and cream mixture.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until the top is golden and crispy.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Make sure to slice potatoes thinly for even cooking. Allowing the gratin to rest after baking helps in slicing.
