One Pot Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

Description

A simple, hearty meal where spaghetti and meat sauce cook together in one pot, enhancing flavors and saving time.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (500g) ground beef
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup onion (diced)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 28 oz (800g) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 1/3 cups chicken broth (or beef broth)
  • 8 oz (230g) spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon parsley (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Season the ground beef with salt and ground black pepper, then set aside.
  2. Heat a pan over medium heat and add olive oil until it shimmers.
  3. Sauté the onion until soft, then add garlic until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground beef and stir continuously until browned.
  5. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, spaghetti, and parsley, pressing spaghetti down.
  6. Cover and cook for 14 minutes, checking for doneness after 10 minutes.
  7. If spaghetti is firm, add more broth and continue cooking until al dente.
  8. Serve topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.

Notes

Using fresh ingredients will improve the dish’s flavor. This recipe can be adapted for whole wheat spaghetti for added nutrition.
