Description
Juicy and flavorful Korean BBQ Meatballs perfect for busy weeknights, combining savory and sweet tastes with a hint of spice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Combine the ground beef, minced garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, gochujang, brown sugar, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix until well combined, ensuring a consistent texture without overmixing.
- Roll the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet, leaving space between each meatball for even cooking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes or until cooked through; they should be nicely browned on the outside.
- Mix additional gochujang with a touch of honey for the glaze and brush it over the meatballs during the last few minutes of baking for an added flavor boost.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions for a fresh finish.
Notes
Avoid overmixing the meatball mixture; doing so can result in dense meatballs. Use high-quality beef and chill the mixture before forming meatballs for better shape retention.
