Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the ground beef, minced garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, gochujang, brown sugar, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix until well combined, ensuring a consistent texture without overmixing.
  3. Roll the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet, leaving space between each meatball for even cooking.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes or until cooked through; they should be nicely browned on the outside.
  5. Mix additional gochujang with a touch of honey for the glaze and brush it over the meatballs during the last few minutes of baking for an added flavor boost.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions for a fresh finish.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the meatball mixture; doing so can result in dense meatballs. Use high-quality beef and chill the mixture before forming meatballs for better shape retention.
