- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 2 cups cooked pasta (e.g., rotini or penne)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 2 cups shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cooked pasta, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, and chicken broth. Mix well until everything is evenly coated.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half of the chicken mixture, pressing it down slightly.
- Sprinkle one cup of shredded cheese on top.
- Add the remaining chicken mixture and top with the remaining cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown around the edges.
- Garnish with chopped green onions if desired and serve warm.
Notes
To prevent a watery casserole, ensure your pasta is cooked just until al dente. If you don’t have cream of chicken soup, use creamy mushroom soup as a substitute.
