Description

A delicious and hearty casserole featuring shredded chicken, pasta, and creamy cheese, perfect for busy nights.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (e.g., rotini or penne)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cooked pasta, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, and chicken broth. Mix well until everything is evenly coated.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half of the chicken mixture, pressing it down slightly.
  5. Sprinkle one cup of shredded cheese on top.
  6. Add the remaining chicken mixture and top with the remaining cheese.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown around the edges.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired and serve warm.

Notes

To prevent a watery casserole, ensure your pasta is cooked just until al dente. If you don’t have cream of chicken soup, use creamy mushroom soup as a substitute.
